SURGE Information

SURGE is a way to make sure students have what they need to be successful!  Sometimes there is not enough class time to do all the things necessary to make sure every student has what they need. This way you do not have to stay after school or use lunch periods to make sure these things are done. SURGE will give you time to meet in clubs, get help from a teacher, make up work, retake an assessment and develop Social Emotional skills.

Here are the sessions offered:

  • Clubs- Teachers will offer clubs on specific days. These are reoccurring.

  • Activity-Teachers may offer these as an enrichment or fun activity.  They may not be recurring.

  • Tutorial-Teachers will offer test retake, make up or tutorials on concepts you may find difficult.  This can be selected by students and a teacher may request you attend.

  • Remediation-Teachers will request you if they need to help you with a topic on concept. You must attend these sessions if teachers request you.

  • Advisory/Sources of Strength/ACT Prep/Work Keys/One Chatham Read-This will happen one time per week on Wednesdays. Grader levels will rotate Advisory.  The other groups will have students assigned to them.  You must attend the session chosen for you.

What we need to students to do:

  • Make sure you select a session that will help you be the best you can be!

  • Attend and engage in sessions when teachers request you.

  • Only go to the classroom you are assigned to and be on time.

  • Make any changes to your SURGE selections by 9:15.

  • Follow RISE for the classroom you are assigned to.
