Young Writers’ Camp
Description: Campers will create 21st century texts using digital tools such as storyboarding, blogging, and movie-making during this two week camp experience. In daily writing workshops, students will work with UNCG faculty, graduate students, NC teachers, and local authors. The camp introduces young writers to the writing process, unlocks strategies of professional writers, and supports development of variety of writing styles. Youth Digital: Server Design Camp (Rising 3-9 Grades)
Description: Kids learn to code in Java™, the most widely-used programming language in the world, including programming methods, parameters, if-then statements, booleans, instantiation and arrays to customize their server. 21st Century Community Learning Centers
Description: An afterschool program that assists students in core subjects (math, reading, science, social studies) by providing out-of-school time services to students and their families through community learning centers that offer an array of enrichment activities to complement regular academic programs. The program reinforces and compliments the skills students need for transitioning into high school, decreasing summer loss, increasing post-secondary enrollment and preparing for workforce success.  View Additional Information

3D Animation for Video Games
Description: This camp teaches students how to create 3D computer animations using the industry software, 3D Studio Max. They'll begin with learning the tools and the basics of animation. Employing the use of motion capture software and the Xbox Kinect, they'll create key-framed animations set to audio using pre-made rigs. Last, they'll learn how to clean up the mo-cap keys for smooth playback using MotionBuilder software, and render a high resolution movie clip of their animation.  View Additional Information
