✨ CONGRATS to our Champions of Character winner for the month of March - Integrity, Kathryn Gwennap, 5th grader at Chatham Grove. Her nominator said:
"Kathryn is a compassionate and engaged student, who shines in her empathy and kindness towards others. She believes in giving back to her community and regularly does so without interest in receiving acknowledgement for it - she simply does it because it's right and she values positively contributing to the communities that she is apart of. Kathryn takes her work seriously and is respectful to her teachers, peers, and anyone that she comes in contact with. She is a student athlete, recently was acknowledged through winning the Carson Scholarship, and is overall a well-rounded scholar. We are so glad she is a gator!" #OneChatham

🌟 Congratulations to our March Power of One recipient, Ms. Jennette Horton, Exceptional Children Program Facilitator at Central Services. Her nominator said:
"Jennette always goes above and beyond to support, advocate, and assist in creating empowering classrooms for our most vulnerable students. She is diligent and fearless in her advocacy for them. She see's possibilities where some may just see frustration. Jennette always does what is best for students, even if it means extra work and time on her part. She also advocates and supports all teachers, with high levels of support. Many students and families have been able to gain access to important services and supports. Jennette is a true example of the power of ONE. #OneChatham #SeethePossibilities

They attended different sessions about applying to colleges, the UNCG summer camp, listened to immigrant stories and at the end of the day were able to meet Juan Velarde, the kicker for NCCU! #OneChatham #GDTBAJ #WeAreSeaforth

🍎 Today in North Carolina…
CCS Superintendent Dr. Anthony Jackson, along with other education leaders from our region, had the opportunity to sit down with U.S. Congresswoman Valerie Foushee to discuss how recent federal actions are shaping the future of education.
These conversations matter — and we’re grateful for leaders who listen, engage, and advocate for our students, educators, and communities. 🏛️
