Chatham County Students Earn over 12 Million in Scholarships & Grants
Pittsboro, NC -- Chatham County School District’s graduating class of 2015 is at the top of the academic game and has set a new record for earning scholarship money and grants to prove it. The combined scholarship and grant totals for all four high schools exceeds twelve million dollars. June 2015 saw 562 seniors from across the district accept their diplomas.
Many Chatham County students will be moving to university life with college credits already earned. Thanks to the partnership with Central Carolina Community College and Central Carolina Works, there are many students who have taken advantage of dual enrollment programs. Additionally, many Advanced Placement students scored well enough on their AP exams to earn college credits for their high school courses.
Students from the district will be attending colleges and universities throughout the country, community colleges, the armed services,or entering the workforce. Wherever they choose to apply their talents, district administrators are confident that our students are prepared for and excited about the next phase in their journey. It is with great pride and joy that principals and school counselors celebrate the tremendous financial windfall benefitting our students as they continue striving for success.
